Elk Management Program Extension

Staff are requesting an extension of the management plans that allow limited hunting as a resource management tool. An update of the program will be presented at the Parks & Open Space Advisory Committee meeting on March 27. Public comment is welcomed.

Youth Corps Now Hiring

Applications are being accepted for the 2025 season of the Youth Corps. Teen Corpsmember applications are due Friday, April 4. Staff leader positions are open until filled.

Volunteers Needed

Make a difference by becoming an ongoing volunteer. Volunteers are needed for Walker Ranch Living History Demonstrators, Altona Schoolhouse Volunteers, and Mining Museum Guides.

Prescribed Burns

Prescribed burns will be conducted this winter as conditions allow throughout the county. Smoke and flames may be visible. Please do not call 911 since a controlled burn is not an emergency. The areas will be monitored to ensure fires are completely out.
