Parks & Open Space Advisory Committee

The Parks & Open Space Advisory Committee (POSAC) reviews proposals and advises Parks & Open Space staff and the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) on open space issues, new land acquisitions, and the management of existing properties.

Regular Meetings

POSAC usually meets on the fourth Thursday of each month starting at 6:30 p.m. Meetings will be held in a hybrid format where attendees can join through Zoom or in-person at the Boulder County Courthouse, 1325 Pearl St, 3rd Floor, Boulder.

Agenda and registration will be posted one week before the meeting.

Registration is only required for participants who want to provide public comment. Meetings are streamed live through eSCRIBE. Video will display on the agenda page as soon as the meeting begins.

How To Participate

Speak Live During the Meeting

Public comments will be accepted from individuals attending the meeting in-person or virtually through the Zoom Webinar.

Speaking Times
Generally, each speaker will have a maximum of five minutes per item. In cases where many comments are expected, speakers may be limited to three minutes or another time limitation if appropriate. Pooling of speaker time will be permitted at the discretion of the chair. All speakers wishing to pool their time must be signed up for and present at the meeting. Time allotted for pooled speakers will be determined by the chair, not to exceed a total of ten minutes. Speakers are requested not to repeat statements made by previous speakers other than to express points of agreement or disagreement.

Documents & Presentations
Documents and presentations can be emailed to the POSAC coordinator or printed copies can be provided at the meeting. Participants on the Zoom Webinar will not be allowed to share their screen during the meeting.

Purpose & Bylaws

POSAC is an advisory board appointed by the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) of Boulder County to provide advice to the BOCC and Boulder County Parks & Open Space (BCPOS) department regarding BCPOS plans, programs, and actions.

Advisory Committee Members

Members are appointed by the Board of County Commissioners and serve a three year term. Recruitment for board members occurs two times a year, typically in January and July.
