Land Use Department - Courthouse Annex Building

The Boulder County Community Planning & Permitting physical office at 2045 13th St., Boulder is open to the public for walk-ins on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., and on Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Appointments are available on Tuesday but are not required. We are virtually available to assist the public on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and on Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Schedule an appointment.

Submittal Schedule for Planning Applications

The Community Planning & Permitting Department manages the number of planning applications accepted each week in order to align with available resources. Once you have had a Pre-application Conference and have a complete application ready for review, please contact Community Planning & Permitting at 303-441-3930 to get on the schedule to submit your planning application.

The Boulder County Community Planning & Permitting Department actively promotes the preservation of the integrity of our landscape, conservation of natural resources for a sustainable future, and provision of safety and well being of the citizens of Boulder County through the best in service, public policy, and process.

The Department provides development review, comprehensive planning, transportation planning, licensing, building permits, building inspections, mapping services, zoning enforcement, forest health and wildfire protection planning, and monitors legislative activity for unincorporated Boulder County.

It is the goal of Community Planning & Permitting to provide timely, responsive and helpful service to all members of the public and promote innovative development that effectively balances conservation, development and sustainability.
