Board of Adjustment (BOA)

The Boulder County Board of Adjustment (BOA) hears appeals of any order, requirement, decision, or determination made by the Land Use Director or County Engineer in administering or enforcing Article 4 related provisions (e.g. definitions in Article 18) of this Code, and considers certain variances from the requirements of Article 4 of the Land Use Code.

The Board of Adjustment meets as needed on the first Wednesday of the month at 4 p.m. Board of Adjustment meetings and hearings are open to the public.


Public Meetings and Hearings

Boulder County Board of Adjustment meetings are typically convened in a hybrid format where attendees can join through Zoom or participate in-person at the Downtown Boulder County Courthouse, 3rd Floor, 1325 Pearl St., Boulder.

The Board of Adjustment regular meeting has been canceled for April 3, 2024. The next regularly scheduled meeting will be on May 1, 2024.

Docket VAR-23-0002 Stevenson Variance Approval Extension Request: Request to extend the one-year expiration of the approval granted by the Board of Adjustment on April 5, 2023
A request to extend the one-year expiration of the rights to permits authorized by the granting of VAR-23-0002 by the Board of Adjustment on April 5, 2023. The Variance approval reduced the required side-yard setback from 25 feet to 18 feet 4 inches for the stair and mudroom addition (BP-23-0304 and in VAR-23-0002 application materials). Location: 32050 Coal Creek Canyon Drive (aka SH72), approximately 150 feet east of the intersection of Coal Creek Canyon Drive and Copperdale Lane, in Section 32, T1S, R71W.
