Community Planning & Permitting

The Community Planning and Permitting Department helps guide the county’s long term land use goals and support safe, sustainable development.

The department provides services such as development review, comprehensive and transportation planning, licensing, building permits, building inspections, mapping, zoning enforcement, forest health planning, and wildfire protection planning.

Through these programs and services, the county can help protect natural resources, support community safety, and ensure responsible growth across the county, following the Boulder County Comprehensive Plan and Boulder County Land Use Code.
