The Boulder County Fire Code Review Committee met to discuss two fire code adoption requests: the adoption and amendments of the 2021 International Fire Code by Berthoud Fire Protection District AND the adoption and amendments of the 2018 International Fire Code by Nederland Fire Protection District.

The Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) held a public hearing on September 16, 2021 to review the Mountain View Fire Protection District’s adoption of the 2018 International Fire Codes and amendments and the Lyons Fire Protection District’s adoption of the 2015 International Fire Codes and amendments, approving each District’s adoptions/amendments.

The Fire Code Review Committee held a Public Hearing on June 8, 2021, to review the Mountain View Fire Protection District Fire Code (2018 IFC) and the Lyons Fire Protection District Fire Code (2015 IFC). The FCRC voted to recommend to the Board of County Commissioners that the proposed Mountain View and Lyons Fire Protection Districts Fire Codes be accepted for administration by the Districts in those portions of unincorporated Boulder County that lie within the boundaries of the District, with the stipulations as noted in the staff recommendation for Mountain View and the six minor changes proposed by the FCRC for Lyons.

Public Hearing: FCRC-18-0001 – 2018 International Fire Code Adoption and Amendments, August 30, 2018
The Board of County Commissioners held a public hearing on August 30, 2018 to review the Berthoud Fire Protection District Fire Code (2018 IFC). Resolution 2018-86, approving the application of the 2018 International Fire Code adopted by the Berthoud Fire Protection District to the portions of the Berthoud Fire Protection District that lie in unincorporated Boulder County was adopted August 30, 2018.

FCRC-17-0001 – 2015 International Fire Code Adoption and Amendments, Nov. 8, 2017
On November 8, 2017, the Fire Code Review Committee held a public hearing on the proposed Boulder Rural Fire Protection District Fire Code. The Fire Code Review Committee approved and recommended to the Board of County Commissioners that the proposed Boulder Rural Fire Protection District’s Code be accepted for administration by the district in those portions of unincorporated Boulder County that lie within the boundaries of the fire protection district, with the stipulations as noted in the staff recommendation.
