Clerk & Recorder Overview
The Clerk & Recorder’s office runs three divisions: Elections, Motor Vehicle, and Recording. An Administration Division supports the work of all three.
Our officewide priorities over the next three years are to:
- Provide the best in public service through efficient services and operations, transparency, and accountability.
- Ensure organizational readiness for emergency situations through response planning and physical security.
- Defend against cybersecurity threats by empowering our staff and leveraging technology.
- Cultivate an inclusive, equitable, and empowering organizational culture where staff can thrive and are accountable for our office culture.
- Advance equity and accessibility across all services and internal practices so that our staff and the communities we serve feel represented and supported.
- Shape the broader public service landscape through legislation and policy, proactive leadership and active participation in working groups, committees, and collaborative initiatives.
You can find specific goals for the Elections, Motor Vehicle, and Recording Divisions on their own tabs.
Public Accountability and Service Reports
At the start of each year, we publish a Public Accountability and Service Report. This report shares key facts and wins from the Clerk & Recorder’s office from the past year.
