What is the Community Academy?
The Community Academy is a 11-week course providing an overview of various law enforcement topics. The program explains the different aspects of law enforcement work using classroom discussions and hands-on demonstrations. The Community Academy offers community members insight into how Sheriff’s deputies perform their duties and how the Sheriff’s Office serves the community.
Course Description
The Community Academy is not an accredited law enforcement certification program but is designed to provide residents insight about the internal workings of the Sheriff’s Office and law enforcement in general.
Instruction consists of one 3 1/2-hour class each week for 11-weeks, and a final graduation ceremony. Classes are limited to 25 students. View the schedule for the Community Academy.
