The next of kin or designated member of the decedent’s family or social network is responsible for selecting a mortuary. The following list of area funeral homes, mortuaries, cremation facilities, and funeral directors is provided as a resource. Family and/or designees are not limited to choosing a mortuary from this list. Any mortuary may be contacted and can arrange for final disposition.
Effective Jan 1, 2027, the State of Colorado requires the licensing of mortuary science practitioners, funeral directors, embalmers, cremationists, and natural reductionists by the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies, Division of Professions and Occupations. The licensing requirement is from legislated act SB24-173.
