Boulder County, Colo. -- The Board of County Commissioners will hold a public meeting at 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 4 to consider a staff recommendation to withdraw a special use application — SU-20-0006 — in order to continue to gather and analyze new information, such as engineering and financing, for a potential Boulder County Composting Facility.

  • Public Meeting: SU-20-0006 (Boulder County Composting Facility)
  • Date/time: Thursday, March 4, 2021 at 1 p.m.
  • Join: Zoom Webinar Attendee Link: https://boco.org/BOCC-March42021
  • Action Requested: Discussion/Staff requests direction from the Board.

Alternatively, to call-in to the meeting: Dial 833 568 8864, Webinar ID: 160 326 0234

As this is a public meeting — not a public hearing — no public testimony will be taken.

The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the status of a Community Planning & Permitting special use application — currently on hold — concerning a potential compost facility at the former Rainbow Tree Nursery site on US Highway 287, south of CO Highway 52.

At the March 4 meeting, Public Works director Jeff Maxwell will make a recommendation to the Board of County Commissioners to withdraw the application in order to allow staff and the commissioners to assess new information and allow for more public dialogue about a compost facility in Boulder County. Additional details will be provided as part of the public meeting.
