Boulder County, Colo. - During a Public Hearing, the Boulder County Commissioners voted 2-1 today (Nov. 20) to change future increases to Boulder County’s local minimum wage starting Jan.1, 2026. The commissioners made the change in response to concerns from members of the farming and business community in unincorporated Boulder County. The Boulder County local minimum wage applies only to unincorporated Boulder County.
New Wage Schedule
Boulder County Ordinance 2025-001 aligns Boulder County’s 2026 local minimum wage with the 2026 City of Boulder local minimum wage. Starting in 2027, the local minimum wage will increase each year by the Consumer Price Index (CPI).
The local minimum wage for unincorporated Boulder County will be $16.82 per hour on Jan.1, 2026.
The following estimates use a 3% CPI to forecast future wage rates:
2027 local minimum wage: $17.32 per hour
2028 local minimum wage: $17.84 per hour
2029 local minimum wage: $18.38 per hour
2030 local minimum wage: $18.93 per hour
The county will shortly update the Local Minimum Wage website, including frequently asked questions, in English and Spanish.
