Joint study session on telecommunications planning topics
Board of County Commissioners and Planning Commission to hold study session on Tuesday, Oct. 15
Boulder County, Colo. - The Boulder County Planning Commission (PC) and Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) will hold a joint study session on telecommunications planning topics on Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2019. The public meeting begins at 2 p.m.
What: Joint Study Session on Telecommunications Planning Topics
When: Tuesday, October 15, 2019, 2 p.m.
Where: Commissioners’ Hearing Room, Boulder County Courthouse, Third Floor, 1325 Pearl St., Boulder
The Planning Commission requested the joint study session with the Board of County Commissioners to address the following topics:
- Understanding the relationship between height, density, and emissions for macro-cells and small cells;
- Feasibility, analysis, and incentives for co-location;
- Third party verification; and
- Small Cell Wireless Facilities Design Requirements and Guidelines associated with proposed Small Cell Wireless Code provisions (Docket DC-19-0001: Proposed Boulder County Land Use Code Amendments to Article 4- 514 Telecommunication Facilities).
The study session outcomes will inform potential changes to the Design Requirements and Guidelines that staff will present to the BOCC when seeking approval for the proposed Land Use Code provisions for Docket DC-19-0001. The session will also help identify additional steps that may be appropriate regarding potential future policy or Land Use Code amendments related to telecommunications.
No board action or vote is requested as part of the study session. The public is invited to attend, but public testimony will not be taken. Written comments on Docket DC-19-0001 may be submitted via the Ask a Planner form.
