Boulder Valley Comprehensive Plan (BVCP) Mid-Term Update

Boulder County Planning Commission will meet virtually on Wednesday, January 20, 2021

The Boulder Valley Comprehensive Plan (BVCP) Mid-Term Update is undergoing review by Boulder County as part of a long-time Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) with the City of Boulder. The mid-term update is not a major update, and its purpose is to ensure that the comprehensive plan—which took place on 2015 and undergoes a major update every 10 years—is on track and only considers minor changes in policy, map changes, and other amendments.

The Planning Commission will be meeting virtually starting at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, January 20, 2021. View the agenda.

What: Boulder County Planning Commission Public Meeting
When: 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 20, 2021
Where: Virtual Public Hearing via Zoom. Register to attend or speak at the hearing.

Planning Commission will be making decisions on only those items in the update which require four body review as outlined in the IGA. The changes proposed include:

Extension of the term of the Intergovernmental Agreement between the City of Boulder and Boulder County for an additional five years.

Changes to Area II and III properties that require city and county approval:

  • Service Area Contraction to reflect the 2016 voter approved Blue Line including Area I, II, III Map changes from Area I to Area III – Annex and Area II to Area III – Rural Preservation for city Open Space and Mountain Parks properties.

Land Use changes for recently acquired city Open Space properties.
Policy and Text changes:

  • Policy and Text changes to integrate other policies and plans adopted since the last update.

Planning Commission will be hearing public testimony on January 21. View the Planning Commission webpage for information on how to join the virtual Zoom meeting.
