Sexual Health and Self-Empowerment Education
Upon its inception, GENERATIONS (formerly known as GENESISTER) has supported youth, primarily Latine youth, in staying in school and reducing the chances of an unplanned pregnancy. This has been achieved by engaging their families, mainly parents or guardians, through the process of supporting their youth academically, engaging in transformational conversations, and encouraging healthy and effective parenting techniques. Throughout its years, the program has evolved its pregnancy prevention (or reproductive justice) approach to also encompass self and sexual health empowerment overall for youth of all genders.
The GENERATIONS Program and framework center the Latinx, immigrant, and first-generation experiences in Boulder County, but are inclusive of all people and genders, as well as allies.
