Self-Guided Recycling Center Tours

  • Self-Guided Tours are open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m.- 3p.m., excluding holidays.
  • Self-guided tours are best for small groups (less than 10 people) and people with young kids (less than 5 years old).
  • Educational exhibits at the Boulder County Recycling Center explain how cans, bottles, jars and paper are separated and sorted to be shipped across the country and made into something new. Overlooking the processing center, visitors can also see single-stream recycling technology in action. Other exhibits focus on the natural resources used to make common materials such as soda cans and plastic bottles and the environmental benefits of recycling these items.

Resource Conservation Advisory Board (RCAB) formed in 2002 to advise the Board of County Commissioners.
