Allenspark Transfer Station and Recycling Drop-off

Allenspark Transfer Station and Recycling Drop-off

Allenspark Transfer Station is a staffed facility accepting bagged and loose garbage from households and small businesses for a fee. Recycling is free of charge. Scrap metal is accepted free of charge. The County does not provide trash collection services. Contact your local haulers to arrange pickup.

The Allenspark Transfer Station is temporarily operating in the gravel lot adjacent to the fire department during construction. During construction, we are accepting fewer materials than usual. See below for details.
We appreciate your patience as we work to improve the site and services.

Construction Updates

During construction, we are operating a temporary site in the gravel lot between the permanent transfer station site and the fire department. The site can be accessed directly from CO-7, beside the fire department entrance.

While we are operating the temporary site, we are only accepting: single stream recycling, scrap metal, and household trash. No loose trash – trash must be bagged. Scrap metal must be placed into the metal box.

We are temporarily NOT accepting the following materials: block Styrofoam, Freon appliances, clothing/textiles. We will resume collection of these materials when we return to the permanent site upon completion of construction. See alternatives below.

Construction improvements include: addition of a cardboard compactor, a better office and restroom for staff, an ADA compliant parking spot, accessibility ramps, and improved site entry and exit flow.

We understand that construction impacts create inconveniences for our community. We are working to complete the project as quickly and safely as possible and to minimize impacts to the community. We appreciate your patience as we work to improve the Allenspark Transfer Station site and services.
