Winter Child Wellness & Safety Day

Winter weather is here, and it’s important to keep children safe, warm, and healthy. Join the Boulder County Coroner’s Office in partnership with Corden Pharma for a Winter Wellness & Safety Day, a free event focused on child safety and wintertime wellness.

What to Expect:

  • Child Car Seat Safety Checks: Certified professionals for child car seat inspections. Reservations strongly recommended.
  • Car Seat and blankets: A limited number of car seats with blankets will be distributed to families in need.
  • Winter Health & Safety Tips: Experts will share guidance on staying safe in the winter months, including recognizing symptoms of common winter illnesses, when to seek medical care, and best practices for winter wellness.

How to Get Involved:

  • For Event Attendance: Call 303-441-3535 or email coroner@bouldercounty.gov to schedule your car seat inspection, and confirm your event attendance.
  • To Donate: Drop off a new, still in the box, car seat to the Boulder County Coroner’s Office at 5610 Flatiron Parkway, Boulder, CO 80301 by Friday, December 6. Drop off hours are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday – Friday.

Overview

The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office and Boulder County Coroner’s Office invite the community to our first ever Trunk or Treat event on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Bring the whole family to our headquarters at 5600 Flatiron Parkway in Boulder for a night filled with candy, costumes, and community. Kids 12 and under can start their spooky journey through the Sheriff’s haunted hallway, collect goodies from our costumed staff, and explore a lineup of emergency vehicles from multiple first responder agencies in our parking lot for a special Trunk or Treat. Continue the adventure through Coroner’s Office spooky hallway, where there will be more treats and fun surprises.

This is more than just a Halloween celebration, it’s a chance to learn about traffic and road safety in a fun and engaging way. It’s also an opportunity to meet local law enforcement, Coroner’s Office, and public safety staff. This is a free family-friendly event and is appropriate for kids 12 and under. Wear your best costume and come join the fun. On site food trucks will offer self-pay meals.

Join us as at the Longmont Library at 409 4th Street, Longmont to welcome Boulder County Coroner Jeffrey B. Martin, who was appointed via unanimous vote by the Boulder County Commissioner’s Office to fill the coroner vacancy. Come meet Coroner Martin and learn about the inner workings of the coroner’s office and how the staff carry out this vitally important work. Come equipped with questions and an interest in understanding the end of life! Coffee will be provided.
