Vehicle identification number (VIN) inspections are required for the following:
- New residents coming from out of state
- Newly purchased vehicles with out-of-state titles (required only for used vehicles, not required for brand new vehicles with an MSO)
- Title corrections
Inspections may be provided by the following:
- Air Care Colorado or other emissions testing station
- Boulder County Motor Vehicle location
- Diesel emissions testing location
- Licensed Colorado dealership
- Law enforcement officer
