A special event food vendor provides food at a fixed location as part of a single event or celebration (including fairs and festivals) for no more than 14 consecutive days.
Food at Special Events
Vendors providing food must complete the Vendor Application at least 10 days prior to the event. Vendors may be required to provide a copy of the confirmation email from Boulder County Public Health to the event coordinator.
Call 303-441-1564 and ask for the on-call inspector if you have questions about or technical issues with the application.
To obtain special event approval, submit the vendor application form. Once approved and payment is made, vendors will receive special event approval.
Food Safety Training
All food vendors providing food at special events in Boulder County are required to have taken a food safety training. The online State Food Safety training meets this requirement.
Event Coordinators
Special event coordinators must complete the Coordinator Application at least 14 days prior to the event. After all food vendors have submitted applications, the coordinator will be notified of approval/non-approval.
Coordinator Fee Structure
- $155 application deposit at time of submission
- Post-event reconciliation based on actual staff time for review and inspections
- Additional billing if costs exceed deposit
- Refund if deposit exceeds actual cost
Boulder County Special Events
All food vendors are required to submit an application and obtain approval from Boulder County Public Health.
