The Boulder County Community Planning & Permitting office at 2045 13th St., Boulder is open to the public on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., and on Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Appointments are available on Tuesday but are not required. Schedule an appointment.

Since the 1970s, Boulder County and the City of Boulder and have jointly adopted the Boulder Valley Comprehensive Plan (BVCP) to guide planning and development in the city and surrounding area. Every five years the BVCP is updated to reflect changing conditions and community values.

Past Public Meeting and Hearing Information

Board of County Commissioners
The County Commissioners canceled the scheduled January 29 public hearing after being advised of the January 16, 2013 Planning Commission action to not support Options C or D. Therefore the 2010 Major Five Year Update is concluded. Section II Amendment Procedures of the 2005 BVCP text, including the Area III Planning Reserve Service Area Expansion process, remains unchanged.
