Virtual meeting for the CO 119 (the Diagonal) Bikeway Design

Boulder County, Colo. - Boulder County’s Community Planning & Permitting Department and CDOT invites the public to a virtual meeting presentation for the CO Highway 119 Bikeway Project on Monday, August 30, 2021.

The CO 119 Bikeway Project is a planned off-street, multi-use paved path along CO 119 (the Diagonal) between Longmont and Boulder. Additionally, the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will provide an overview of other projects along the corridor.

At this public meeting, staff will discuss the conceptual design of the bikeway and potential connections at the north and south ends of the project. Participants will have an opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback on the design concepts at the meeting.

When: Monday, August 30, 5:30-7 p.m.

Languages: The meeting will be held in English with simultaneous Spanish interpretation

The goal of the bikeway is to provide a year-round, safe, direct, accessible, and comfortable bike facility with seamless connections to transit, neighborhoods, businesses, and local walking and bicycling paths.

The vision for the bikeway was first conceived in the Northwest Area Mobility Study and later studied in the 2019 Planning and Environmental Linkages (PEL). The PEL was developed with project partners including, Boulder County, CDOT, RTD, and local municipalities. The overall corridor vision includes:

  • Bus Rapid Transit (BRT)
  • Intersection Improvements
  • Separated Bikeway Multi-Use Path
