Structure fire in the Town of Lyons

Several people treated for smoke inhalation and minor burns

Boulder County, Colo. - At approximately 11:00 a.m., the Boulder County Communication Center received several 911 phone calls regarding a structure fire in the 400 block of Main Street in the Town of Lyons. The building houses several businesses and offices. Smoke and flames were visible upon arrival by first responders.

All occupants in the building were evacuated. Several people were treated on-scene for smoke inhalation and minor burns. A sheriff’s office deputy transported himself to a local hospital for minor burns and was treated and released. One community member was also transported via ambulance to a local hospital for further evaluation. The building sustained severe damage.

The cause and origin of the fire is being investigate by the Multi-Agency Fire Investigation Team (MAFIT).

Agencies who responded to the fire included: Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, Lyons Fire, Hygiene Fire, Boulder Rural Fire Rescue, Longmont Fire, Boulder Emergency Squad, North Metro Fire, Lefthand Fire, Pinewood Springs Fire, and American Medical Response (AMR Ambulance).
