Structure fire in the 600 block of Quartz Way

Boulder County, Colo. - On July 2, 2020 around 4:42 P.M. the Boulder County Communication Center received 911 calls of smoke in the area. Once Deputies and Fire personal arrived on scene a house in the 600 Block of Quartz Way was fully engulfed. Approximately 1/2 acre was also on fire surrounding the house. Deputies began evacuating nearby residences while fire personal started attacking the fire.

Agencies that responded to fire included the Boulder County Sheriff's Office, Lyons Fire Department, Left Hand Fire Department, Hygiene Fire Department, Big Elk Meadows Fire Department, Boulder Rural Fire Department, US Forrest Service, American Medical Response, and Boulder County Sheriff's Office Fire Management.

The resident later arrived and nobody was injured during the fire. Lyons Fire Department in conjunction with the Boulder County Sheriff's Office is investigating the cause and origin of the fire. There is nothing suspicious at this time.
