Structure fire in the 4500 block of Ute Highway

One person transported with minor injuries

Boulder County, Colo. - On September 26, 2020 around 8:55 P.M., Boulder County Communications Center received several 911 calls of a possible structure fire in the 4500 block of Ute Highway.

Boulder County Sheriff's Office Deputies as well as Lyons Fire Department, Hygiene Fire Department, Left Hand Fire Department, Boulder Rural Fire Department, Boulder Emergency Squad, and Pinewood Springs Fire Department responded.

When the first Deputies arrived, there was a fire in the back of the structure that quickly spread to the building. Several small explosions were heard and thought to be caused from aerosol paint cans. The fire department was able to rescue a male party from the second story of the building through a window. The male party was transported to a local area hospital with minor injuries.

The Multi Agency Fire Investigation Team (MAFIT) responded to investigate the origin and cause of the fire and is an active investigation. The associated case number is 20-4314.
