SHIELD616 to present life-protecting tactical gear to Boulder County Sheriff’s Office deputies

Boulder County, Colo. - On Thursday, February 21, the non-profit organization SHIELD616 will present a total of 53 armor packages to deputies from the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office. The presentation will take place at 6:30 P.M. the Calvary Bible Church - Boulder Campus, located at 3245 Kalmia Avenue, Boulder.

The congregation of Calvary Bible Church raised enough funds for 51 armor packages, which was $76,500 in donations, additional individual community donations were also received, bringing the total to 53 packages.

This round of donations will ensure that every first responder from the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office has rifle rated body armor and a ballistic helmet. Previous fundraising efforts of other community organizations, churches and individual donors via SHIELD616 also contributed to that goal.

A full armor package costs $1,500 through SHIELD616, or approximately $2,500 if purchased retail. The armor package includes rifle rated armor plates, a plate carrier vest, ballistic helmet and a trauma kit.
