Search and rescue crews help woman get to medical care.
Boulder County, Colo. - On Sunday March 30, 2025, at approximately 8:07 a.m., Boulder County Communications was notified of a 63-year-old female who was reported missing from her home on Lazy Z Road in unincorporated Boulder County.
The missing woman was last seen at her house during the evening of March 29, 2025. When she did not return the morning of March 30, which was unusual, her husband became worried and called 911 for assistance. Deputies from the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office responded and determined that she was not with friends and that it was possible she had left the house on foot. As a result, they requested search and rescue respond to assist.
A search effort was initiated with searchers on foot, driving roads in vehicles and UTV’s, search dogs, and a UAV (drone). Additionally, an Everbridge notification was sent to the surrounding area asking if anyone had seen the missing woman.
At approximately 4:31 p.m., a neighbor who had gone out to search some of the unmarked social trails in the neighborhood called 911 to report they had located a person who they believed to be the missing woman. Deputies and rescuers responded to the scene and found the missing woman experiencing a medical issue. The woman was provided medical care on-scene, evacuated from the area by search and rescue members, transferred to an ambulance, and taken to a local hospital in serious condition.
Agencies assisting with this rescue effort included: Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, Rocky Mountain Rescue Group, Front Range Rescue Dogs, Boulder Emergency Squad, Timberline Fire Protection District, Gilpin Ambulance, Mounted Search and Rescue, and Colorado Search and Rescue.
