Park Assessments Begin Saturday

Boulder County, Colo. - Starting Saturday, Boulder County Parks & Open Space rangers will check all closed open space areas west of Highway 36, including Ron Stewart Preserve at Rabbit Mountain. Rangers cannot hike every trail, but they will reopen parks if no immediate safety concerns are visible from parking areas.

The interactive trails map will update as trails reopen, and updates will be sent to trail alerts subscribers.

Extreme Caution Urged

Trail users should use extreme caution. Trails may be blocked due to fallen trees and limbs. Be alert - trees and branches can fall at any time, even after winds have calmed.

Heil Valley Ranch Remains Closed

Heil Valley Ranch will stay closed until further notice. Hundreds of hazardous trees likely remain along trails damaged by the Cal-Wood Fire. Staff will clear fallen trees and remove dangerous ones before reopening.

Report Safety Concerns

Report fallen trees or safety issues to posinfo@bouldercounty.gov. Please include a photo and exact location when possible. We are short-staffed during the holidays and will clear fallen trees as soon as we can. Thank you for your patience.
