Male found deceased in car by deputy at Peak to Peak Highway near Gold Hill Road

Boulder County, Colo. - On Saturday, December 7, 2019 at approximately 2:00 p.m., a patrol deputy with the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office was on routine patrol in the area of the Peak to Peak Highway near its intersection with Gold Hill Road. The deputy stopped to check on a vehicle that was parked on the shoulder of the road with its hazard lights on. Upon approaching the vehicle, the deputy found a male party in the driver’s seat, deceased from an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The decedent is believed to be a male in his 30’s but he has not been positively identified. Detectives with the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office are working with the Boulder County Coroner’s Office to investigate the death. At this time there are no Indications of foul play.

The associated case number for this incident is 19-7018.
