Male Arrested After Physical Altercation with Deputies

27 Year-old Male Arrested After Domestic Violence Stalking Complaint and Physical Altercation

Boulder County, Colo. -

On September 14th, 2019 at approximately 8:00 pm, Boulder County Deputies were dispatched to an in progress restraining order violation at the Bell Flatirons apartment complex in Superior, Colorado. A female reported that Rockie Jose Garza, date of birth 10/22/1992, had been calling and texting her and was now knocking on her door.

Deputies arrived on scene and contacted a male party matching the description provided by the victim of Mr. Garza. Mr. Garza provided a false name to deputies and then attempted to flee. Deputies chased after Mr. Garza, deployed a Taser and were able to apprehend him after a physical altercation.

Mr. Garza and one of the deputies sustained minor injuries. The deputy was treated and released from an area hospital. Mr. Garza was treated and transported to the Boulder County Jail where he was booked and lodged on multiple felony charges including Second Degree Assault, Attempt to Influence a Public Servant, Stalking, Criminal Impersonation and multiple other charges including Violation of a Restraining Order, Resisting Arrest, Obstructing a Peace Officer, Harassment, Third Degree Assault, Violation of Bond Conditions and Domestic Violence.

The associated Boulder County Sheriff’s Office case number is 19-5399.
