Lost party located safely in the Beaver Reservoir area

Boulder County, Colo. - On Friday, July 15, 2022 at approximately 7:13 p.m., the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a missing male party with medical conditions in the Beaver Reservoir area. The male had been missing for approximately one hour, recently experienced a stroke, and had other concerning medical conditions.

Indian Peaks Fire Protection District and deputies with the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office were first to arrive and began a search of the area. The terrain was heavily wooded with very few trails making the search difficult. More agencies arrived to aid in the search when a volunteer located the missing male on the Peak-to-Peak Highway. The 55-year-old male from Broomfield was missing for approximately three hours and was reunited with his family. The search took approximately three and a half hours.

Agencies assisting with the rescue included: Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, Boulder Emergency Squad, Front Range Rescue Dogs, Indian Peaks Fire Protection District, and Mounted Search and Rescue, Rocky Mountain Rescue Group.

The associated Boulder County Sheriff’s Office case number was 22-3350.
