Injured Hiker Rescued from the Royal Arch Trail Chautauqua Park

Boulder County, Colo. - On January 26, 2019 at 4:30 p.m, Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, Rocky Mountain Rescue Group, City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks, and American Medical response responded to the report of an injured hiker on the Royal Arch Trail. The trail is located in Boulder near Chautauqua Park.

A 32-year-old male sustained a possible lower leg fracture, and was unable to walk out on his own. Rescuers completed a technical liter evacuation from near the top of the trail, which is approximately two miles. The rescue took approximately 3 hours. The injured party was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
