Injured hiker near Cal-Wood Education Center

Boulder County, Colo. - On Tuesday, July 16, 2019, around 2:40 p.m., the Boulder County Communications Center received a report of an injured hiker 1 mile east of Cal-Wood Ranch which is located at 2282 County Rd. 87 near Jamestown, Colorado.

A 59 year old female hiker from the Austin Texas area had injured her leg when she tripped and fell. Rescue personnel from the Lefthand Fire Department, Rocky Mountain Rescue Group, Boulder County Sheriff's Office Emergency Service, and Sheriff's Deputies responded to the scene.

The hiker was located and a technical litter evactuation was done to get the patient to an awaiting ambulance. The hiker had non-life threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital by AMR Ambulance Service.

The associated Boulder County Sheriff's Office case number is: 19-4011.
