Injured Hiker at Rabbit Mountain

Boulder County, Colo. -

On April 21, 2019 at approximately 12:25 p.m. the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office along with Hygiene Fire Department, American Medical Response Ambulance (AMR), Rocky Mountain Rescue Group (RMR) and a Boulder County Park Ranger were called to Rabbit Mountain Open Space located at 14950 55th Street in Boulder County, Colorado on the report of an injured hiker.

A 59-year old female from Longmont, CO. fell on a rocky portion of the trail which is approximately 1/3 of a mile from the Rabbit Mountain trail head. Due to inaccessibility, an evacuation was conducted by RMR about 100 yards downhill and across the hillside to the access road. The female was then transported to a local hospital by AMR for an evaluation.

This incident has been documented under Boulder County Sheriff’s Office case number 19-2211.
