Injured hiker assisted off of the Royal Arch Trail

Boulder County, Colo. - On June 18th, 2022, at approximately 3:10 p.m., the Boulder County Communications Center was notified of an injured hiker on the Royal Arch Trail in Chautauqua Park. The reporting party who was hiking with the female stated that she had sustained minor injuries when she slipped on some rocks while hiking on the trail.

Rescue personnel from Rocky Mountain Rescue (RMR), American Medical Response Ambulance Service (AMR), rangers from City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks, and Boulder County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to the incident.

Rescuers from the Rocky Mountain Rescue Group and American Medical Response contacted the injured 20-year-old female from Boulder and assisted her down the trail to an AMR ambulance waiting for her at the Bluebell Shelter. The rescue took approximately one hour.

The associated Boulder County Sheriff's Office case number was 22-2840.
