Hiker Rescued on First/Second Flatiron Trail

58 year old female injures ankle while hiking on trail

Boulder County, Colo. -

On Sunday, May 26, 2019 at approximately 11:00 a.m., the Boulder County Communications Center received a report of a hiker who suffered an injury to her ankle in the area of the Flatirons in unincorporated Boulder County, Colorado. The caller said that a 58-year-old female had stepped off a rock on the First/Second Flatiron Trail and possibly fractured her ankle.

Rescue personnel from the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, City of Boulder Open Space Mountain Parks, Rocky Mountain Rescue Group, and AMR ambulance responded to assist. By 1:11 p.m., rescuers got the patient down to the waiting ambulance at the Bluebell Shelter. The female was transported to Boulder Community Hospital for treatment.
