Hiker injured on the Eldorado Hiking Trail in Boulder County, CO

23 year old female hiker taken to hospital with a leg injury

Boulder County, Colo.

On January 13th, 2019, members with the Boulder County Sheriff's Office, the Rocky Mountain Rescue Group (RMR), the Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW), and the Rocky Mountain Fire Protection District responded to the El Dorado State Park on the report of an injured hiker on the Eldorado Hiking Trail.

The 23 year old Littleton area female was hiking the Eldorado Trail, about 1/4 of a mile from the trail head, when she slipped and injured her left leg. She was unable to walk, but was alert and with other hikers.

Rescuers with RMR arrived on scene and prepared the patient for travel back to the trailhead. The patient was transported out on a litter to an awaiting ambulance. She was taken to an area hospital for a suspected broken leg.

This incident is documented under Boulder County Sheriff's Office case number 19-249.
