Hiker injured in fall on trail Eldorado Canyon Trail

Boulder County, Colo. - On Thursday, June 11, 2020 at approximately 3:26 p.m. the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office received a call regarding a 50-year-old female who sustained injuries after falling while hiking on the Eldorado Canyon Trail.

Members of the Rocky Mountain Fire Protection District, the Rocky Mountain Rescue Group and the Eldorado State Park located the injured woman approximately one-half mile above the Visitor’s Center. The woman had slipped on a rock, causing her to fall to the ground and sustain injuries.

The patient was evacuated from the trail in a litter and then transport to a local hospital. The rescue took approximately one hour and fifteen minutes.

Agencies assisting with this rescue effort included: Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, Eldorado Canyon State Park, Rocky Mountain Fire Authority, and the Rocky Mountain Rescue Group.
