It appears that many residents of Fourmile Canyon did not receive this email on Friday as intended. I am so sorry this did not get through to you. I am investigating and will make sure it does not happen again. The email below includes the three-week schedule, which is the main reason I am resending.

Due to unexpected difficulties grading and shaping the road in preparation for paving, Lawrence will be working tomorrow and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. so the road is ready for paving to start at 8 a.m. on Monday morning. The subsurface beneath the old asphalt was in worse shape than anticipated in many locations, which is what is causing grading and shaping operations to take longer than expected. Instead of pushing the project back, we will work tomorrow and Saturday so paving can proceed as planned. Work will take place between Logan Mill Road and Salina Junction/Gold Run Road (north section). Flaggers will be used to move travelers safely around the work zone. We continue to ask that cyclists avoid the canyon due to a less than ideal road surface and the high volume of large trucks and heavy equipment using the narrow, winding road.

Beginning at 8 a.m. on Monday, paving operations will begin on the first layer of asphalt in the north section. This work is anticipated to take four days to complete. Crews may work past the normal 4:30 p.m. if the planned amount of daily asphalt has not been applied. After the first layer of paving is completed in the north section, paving will begin on the top layer of asphalt in the south section between CO 119 and Poorman Road. The south section will take an estimated three days to pave. Crews will then return to the north section to apply the top layer of asphalt. If all goes well, all paving will be complete by Friday, June 12. All work is weather dependent.

A schedule is available below for reference of all activity planned for the next three weeks in Fourmile Canyon, which also includes guardrail installation, concrete barrier removal, seeding and landscaping, and ditch cutting.
