Paving will take place on Fourmile Canyon Drive between CO 119/Boulder Canyon Drive and Poorman Road from 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, Oct. 4 to 6. The currently gravel road will be reduced to one-lane during the work day and over 100 truck trips will be made through this tight and winding canyon, so we are restricting bikes in this stretch of Fourmile Canyon Drive during paving in order to help maintain safety. Cyclists will be allowed to ride Sunshine Canyon Drive to Poorman and head uphill on Fourmile Canyon Drive, but no cycling will be allowed in the canyon below Poorman Road. Motorists in Fourmile Canyon can expect delays of up-to 15-minutes between CO 119 and Poorman Road. Paving is being completed over the weekend in order to take advantage of days without roadway closures on CO 119/Boulder Canyon Drive.

On Monday, Oct. 7, cycling restrictions will return to the previous schedule, which was 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Next week, crews will return their focus to completing the retaining walls the northern section of the Lower Fourmile Flood Recovery Project, which is located between Logan Mill Road and Salina Junction/Gold Run Road.

Boulder County Transportation and its contractor thanks you for your patience and understanding while we work to complete this crucial aspect of the project.

Have a good week.

Sincerely,

Andrew Barth
