Fallen scrambler rescued off the second flatiron

Boulder County, Colo. - On April 16, at approximately 9:50 a.m., Boulder County Sheriff’s Office responded to 101 Bluebell Rd. on the report of a fallen scrambler on the second flatiron.

A 26-year-old male fell approximately 50 to 60 feet and suffered critical injuries. Climbers nearby found the male and contacted emergency personnel. Rocky Mountain Rescue Group performed a technical vertical litter evacuation and then a scree evacuation. The male was transported to a local hospital.

Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks, Rocky Mountain Rescue Group and American Medical Response responded to the scene.
