Fallen Climber rescued from 29,000 Block of Boulder Canyon in Boulder, Colorado

On Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at approximately 2:06 p.m., the Boulder County Communications Center received a report of a fallen climber in the area of "Frisky Cliff" which is located in the 29000 Block of Boulder Canyon, in Boulder County Colorado.

The climber, a 34 year old male, was using rope and standard climbing equipment when he took a leader fall of about 25 feet and landed on a ledge just above the ground. American Medical Response, the Nederland Fire Protection District, the Rocky Mountain Rescue Group, and the Boulder County Sheriff’s Department responded to the call for assistance.

Nederland Fire Protection District members provided the initial medical care for the patient and the Rocky Mountain Rescue Group carried the patient approximately one half of a mile down to the ambulance. The rescue took approximately one and a half hours from the time fire members arrived at the scene and when the patient arrived at the ambulance. The patient was transported by ambulance to a local Hospital.
