Recognition Highlights Innovative Solutions and Partnerships Contributing Significantly to the Improvement of Transportation Services

Boulder County, Colo. - Boulder County’s human services transportation coordination efforts were recognized Jan. 17, at a Local Coordinating Council (LCC) appreciation luncheon hosted by the Denver Regional Mobility and Access Council (DRMAC). The recognition highlights innovative solutions and partnerships contributing significantly to the improvement of transportation services in the Denver region.

Katrina Harms, Peak to Peak Housing and Human Services Alliance, and Lisa Bitzer, Via Mobility Services, were acknowledged for their pivotal roles in the successful launch of Mountain Rides, a fixed-route service connecting Ward and Rollinsville with Nederland, dedicated to enhancing transportation accessibility. Their dedication and vision have had a profound impact on improving mobility and inclusivity in our communities.

In addition, DRMAC honored several longstanding members of the Boulder County Mobility and Access Coalition (MAC) for their commitment to improving transportation through coordination:

• Lisa Bitzer, Via Mobility Service, MAC Member for 10 years
• Angel Bond, Boulder County Mobility for All, MAC Facilitator for 8 years
• Elaine Erb, Boulder Transportation Connections, MAC Member for 8 years
• Lindsay Neville, Boulder County Area Agency on Aging, MAC Member for 6 years
• Megan Kaliczak, zTrip, MAC Member for 6 years

The MAC is an alliance of community organizations, individuals, and interest groups working together to achieve common goals regarding transportation services to people with mobility challenges, including households with low incomes, older adults, people with disabilities, veterans, and youth.

RTD was also recognized for its exemplary commitment to inclusive planning during the most recent fare study and equity analysis, which resulted in a more affordable, inclusive, and accessible transportation system for all residents of the Denver region through the new affordable fare structure.

The event showcased the strength of community collaboration and the positive impact that individuals can have on the lives of those with limited mobility options. DRMAC expressed gratitude for their outstanding contributions and looks forward to continued partnerships in creating a more accessible and inclusive future.
