Deceased male found in the Gregory Canyon area

Boulder County, Colo. - On March 4, just after 7:00 p.m., the City of Boulder Communications Center received a phone call regarding a missing person. The male was reported missing by a family member who was concerned about their welfare.

A search dog team conducted an initial search last night on Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks property and was able to define a much smaller search area. A secondary search was launched this morning at 7:30 a.m.

Approximately one hour later, city rangers located a deceased male in the Gregory Canyon area. Search and rescue teams recovered and transported the body to the Gregory Canyon Trailhead.

The following agencies were involved in this search: Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, City of Boulder Police Department, City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks, Front Range Rescue Dogs and Rocky Mountain Rescue Group.

The Boulder County Coroner’s Office is responsible for the identification of the decedent and determining the cause and manner of death. At this time, we don't believe there is anything suspicious about this death.
