Climber Rescued After Fall in Boulder Canyon

Man sustained serious injuries at Happy Hour Crag

Boulder County, Colo. - On Friday, June 10, 2022 at approximately 8:38 p.m., the Boulder County Communications Center received a report of an injured climber at the Happy Hour Crag in approximately the 33,000 block of Boulder Canyon.

Sugarloaf Fire Protection District and Rocky Mountain Rescue Group (RMRG) personnel arrived on scene and were notified the climber was located approximately 200 yards from the roadway and up a steep slope. RMRG personnel stabilized the patient and rescuers then moved the patient in a litter down to Boulder Canyon Drive. The 30-year-old male from Boulder was transported by American Medical Response ambulance to a local hospital with serious injuries. The rescue took approximately two-and-a-half hours.

Agencies assisting with the rescue included: Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, Rocky Mountain Rescue Group, Sugarloaf Fire Protection District, and American Medical Response.
