Boulder County, Colo. -- Each year Boulder County develops a draft budget designed to deliver essential services and meet the needs of our community. The draft budget is presented to the Boulder County Commissioners, who pass the annual budget each December.

In 2023, the commissioners passed a $653 million budget for 2024, which balanced the needs of the community, the impacts of inflation, and residents’ concerns about property tax. A summary of the budget and the 2024 Budget Book are available on the county’s website.

The 2025 budget is being developed with a focus on the commissioners’ three strategic priorities:

  • Economic Security and Social Stability
  • Climate Action and Environmental Stewardship
  • Good Governance
