Boulder County Sheriff’s Office seeks public assistance in locating fugitive

Boulder County, Colo. -

On Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at approximately 2:00 PM, Cody Coon, date of birth, December 8, 1991 arrived and entered the Boulder County Jail Courtroom, located outside the hardened and secured perimeter, at 3200 Airport Road, Boulder, Colorado. When the judge remanded Cody into Sheriff’s Office custody, Cody exited the courtroom and ran out the front jail entrance. Deputies chased Cody for a short distance, but to no avail. Additional officers from Boulder Police Department responded and established a perimeter. A witness told deputies they observed a male fitting Cody's description fleeing the area on a bicycle.

Shortly after 3:00 PM, a deputy observed Cody on a bicycle near Canyon Blvd and 14th St in the City of Boulder. Deputies and officers searched the area but were unable to locate Cody. Cody is still at large and believed to be in the Boulder area.

Cody has several active felony arrest warrants, which include charges for Resisting Arrest, Second Degree Assault on a Peace Officer, Retaliation Against a Witness/Victim, and Eluding Police.
