Boulder County Elections continues Vote Early Day partnerships holding four events on October 28

Boulder County, CO – Boulder County Elections is partnering with four great Boulder County organizations/businesses: All Roads Shelter, Emergency Family Assistance Association (EFAA), Association for Community Living, and Avery Brewing to host four Vote Early Day events on Tuesday, October 28. Vote Early Day is a nationwide movement of over 2,700 election administrators, nonprofits, and businesses that aims to ensure that Americans know their options for voting early so that last-minute problems do not stop them from casting their ballot. The day was first celebrated in 2020 and the new civic holiday continues this year on Tuesday, October 28.
At these events, voters can drop off their mail ballots, pick up an “I Voted” sticker, register to vote / update their registration*, ask election-related questions of staff, and get election memorabilia (while supplies last). In addition, interested voters can also drop off donations. At the All Roads event, staff will be collecting toiletries (travel or full size) and used towels/blankets for use at the shelter. At the EFAA event, we will be collecting non-perishable food items for donation. At the ACL event, county staff will be hosting a “make your voting plan” workshop with a social story handout to assist voters. And, at Avery Brewing, voters can grab dinner/drink with friends or family after returning their mail ballot / talking with staff. No RSVP is needed for any of the events.

“Hosting Vote Early Day events has become a staple for our office,” said Molly Fitzpatrick, Boulder County Clerk & Recorder. “I love how every year we can reach people out in the community to talk about the importance of voting and casting a ballot early, explain our processes, and more. It is important to me to reach voters in unique places that they don’t expect elections staff to be. We are so grateful for our community organization and business partnerships that host these events and make that possible.”
“ACL helps community members with intellectual developmental disabilities advocate for themselves and what better way than voting,” said Alisa Wonnacott, Executive Director of Association for Community Living. “Having election staff join us in our space and talk with people with disabilities about voting early and the elections process really sends the message that everyone’s voice matters in the process.”
“Earlier this month, we partnered with the elections office to host a successful voter registration event,” stated Spencer Downing, Chief Shelter Program Officer at All Roads. “It was only natural that we would welcome Boulder County Elections back into our space to talk with our clients about getting their ballots returned, or options for voting in person. When someone is experiencing housing challenges, a simple gesture like telling them their voice and vote matters, can really help uplift someone and have a lasting impact.”
“Hosting Vote Early Day events is an important part of EFAA’s role in the community,” shared Debbie Pope, EFAA’s Executive Director. “Our participants tell us how much they value having this opportunity right here at EFAA. While we help families stabilize with food, housing, and financial assistance, we know lasting change depends on addressing the systemic barriers that make life so hard for so many. With rising housing costs, growing food insecurity, and a fraying safety net, voting is one of the most powerful ways for every individual to help shape solutions and ensure every voice is heard.”
“At Avery Brewing, we believe that strong communities are built through connection,” said Adam Avery, founder of Avery Brewing Company. “That’s why we’re proud to host Vote Early Day each year and to partner with Boulder County Elections by providing a 24-hour ballot drop box at our location. Supporting voter engagement in a relaxed, welcoming space aligns perfectly with our values and our ongoing commitment to the local community.”
