Boulder County Commissioners’ Town Hall on Wildfire Mitigation February 20

Boulder County, Colo. - Residents are invited to join the Boulder County Commissioners for a Town Hall on Thursday, February 20 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. to discuss wildfire mitigation in the county. This Town Hall will be held at the Lyons Town Hall, 432 Fifth Ave., Lyons.

Join the commissioners and Wildfire Mitigation Program Manager Jim Webster to discuss 10 things you can do to mitigate your home against wildfire as well as the 2024 Community Wildfire Protection Plan. The board will take questions on this topic and any other county-related issues brought up by residents.

2024 Community Wildfire Protection Plan update

In November 2024, Boulder County completed the 2024 Community Wildfire Protection Plan update, which was collaboratively developed with agency partners and significant community engagement and input. The plan addresses the new era of more intense climate-driven wildfires that have expanded beyond the mountains and foothills and threaten communities in the eastern plains of Boulder County.

WHERE: Lyons Town Hall, 432 Fifth Ave, Lyons

HOW: No registration is necessary. Please note there will not be a virtual option for this Town Hall. The board will take as many questions as can be accommodated after the presentation. To request a speaking opportunity, please check the speaker box on the sign in sheet at the event.
