Boulder Canyon Trail Closure Update
A section of the Boulder Canyon Trail is closed at the bridge a quarter-mile east (downhill) of Fourmile Canyon Drive
Boulder County, Colo. - New details about the damage to the Boulder Canyon Trail and the work underway to address it are now available on the Boulder Canyon Trail webpage.
The trail remains closed after a large hole formed beneath the trail surface approaching the bridge. No detour is available at this time. Addressing this issue is a top priority, and staff are working as quickly and safely as possible.
Staff are actively working toward a short-term repair solution that may allow the bridge to open to pedestrian and cycle traffic until a long-term solution can be implemented.
Public safety remains the highest priority, and trail users are asked not to enter the closed area. Staff are working diligently to restore access as soon as conditions allow.
Staff are partnering with the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) to add additional signage on the road to alert drivers of the extra bike traffic present.
For more information about the extent of the damage, repair considerations, and coordination with partner agencies, please visit the Boulder Canyon Trail webpage.
