Bicycle events in Boulder County June 26 and 27

Bike MS: Colorado on Saturday, June 26, and Boulder Sunrise Triathlon on Sunday, June 27


Boulder County, Colo. - Two cycling events will be taking place in Boulder County on June 26 and 27, 2021. Bike MS: Colorado will be held on Saturday, June 26, and the Boulder Sunrise Triathlon will be held on Sunday, June 27. All roads will remain open during both events.

If you are traveling through the area during these events please pay close attention to the Boulder County Sheriff, Colorado State Patrol, and the volunteer traffic marshals who will be helping to ensure safety for riders and travelers alike. When passing a bicyclist, motorists must allow at least three feet of space between their vehicle and a bicyclist. To pass a bicyclist safely, drivers may cross a double yellow center line when oncoming traffic is clear.

Bike MS: Colorado, Saturday, June 26

On Saturday, June 26, riders in Bike MS: Colorado will cross the county on their way from Westminster to Berthoud and back. Riders will depart from Westminster in waves from 6 a.m. through 9 a.m.

The riders will enter the Boulder County riding westbound on SH 52/Mineral Rd., then head north on 95th St., west on Niwot Rd. through Niwot, north on 73rd/75th St. through Hygiene, and north on 83rd St. before entering Larimer County. Riders will return to Westminster via East County Line Rd. All riders will be off the course no later than 5 p.m. View the Bike MS: Colorado route maps.

Boulder Sunrise Triathlon, On Sunday, June 27

On Sunday, June 27, the Boulder Sunrise Triathlon will start at 7:15 a.m. with cyclists hitting the road at approximately 7:30 a.m. Riders will be single file and spread out, with the last cyclists leaving Boulder Reservoir at approximately 9 a.m. All cyclists will be off the road by 10:30 a.m. A sweep vehicle will follow the last cyclists and alert the police and course marshals along the way so that traffic can return to normal as soon as possible.
